Job Summary
The Information Technology Specialist is responsible for all IT-related inquiries and technical support requests from end-users. Responding promptly to phone calls, or emails, and providing friendly and effective assistance while troubleshooting and resolving issues.
Work Environment
Work is performed in an office environment; occasionally works outside; travel by car to other departments and to training or meetings; continuous contact with the staff, and outside agencies. The work schedule may include holiday and/or evening and weekend hours. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, dust and/or unpleasant odors, and may occasionally require work in confined spaces.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
Associate degree preferred or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in an IT support role or a similar capacity.
Strong technical knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and networking.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving common hardware and software issues.
Understanding of user account management, security principles, and data privacy.
The customer-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering exceptional support and service.
Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus.
Must have a valid New Mexico driver’s license. For out of state driver’s license, must obtain a valid New Mexico driver’s license within six (6) months of employment.
Does not have any DWI or DUI within the last five (5) years.
Ability to work independently and to exercise discretionary judgement and thinking.
Must be able to pass a background investigation and pre-employment drug screening and physical.
This position requires residing in Cibola County and the ability to comply with safety guidelines and policies of the County.
