Job Summary

Under the general guidance of the County Clerk, Chief Deputy and Filing & Recording Supervisor, performs a variety of clerical duties designed to expedite the processing, recording, and filing of legal documents presented to the Cibola County Clerk’s Office. 


Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This position requires frequent contact with the public which exposes the incumbent to others’ illnesses and to individuals that may be angry, agitated, or otherwise upset. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a laptop, desktop, smartphone, photocopiers, shredders, and filing cabinets. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma, GED or equivalent.

Must be able to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently.

Ability to work independently of daily supervision and to exercise discretionary judgement and thinking. 

Must have a valid New Mexico driver’s license.  If you hold an out of state license must obtain a valid New Mexico driver’s license within six (6) months of employment.

May not have any DWI or DUI within the last five (5) years.

Pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, and background investigation.

Strong communication skills and be able to write clearly and informatively, listen and get clarification, respond well to questions.

Able to organize and prioritize work; use of time efficiently.

Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

This position requires residing in Cibola County and the ability to comply with safety guidelines and policies of the County.
