QUALITY ASSURANCE ASSESSMENT SPECIALIST
Under general direction of the Assessor and/or Chief Deputy Assessor to coordinate and oversee a quality assurance/quality control program for the Assessor’s Office; Conducts analyses of appraisal functions and reports; monitors property changes, edits, and updates initiated by all employees and divisions within the Assessor’s Office to ensure accurate quality levels of assessment and data management.
Work is performed in an office environment; may occasionally work outside; travel by car to other departments and to training or meetings; continuous contact with other staff, constituents, and outside agencies. Work schedule may include evening and weekend hours. Manual and finger dexterity required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
Coordinate the day-to-day operations and activities of the quality assurance/quality control program for the Assessor’s Office through the inspection of computer assisted mass appraisal (CAMA) updates, assessment record updates, paper flow, and transaction logs of all Assessor’s employees.
Monitor and investigate data entry changes to ensure accuracy and quality of the change actions.
Develop, present, and implement policies, procedures, and reports for quality control management.
Observe and track activities of personnel responsible for work to ensure that standards for performance and quality are followed and achieved; conducts detailed and comprehensive reviews of individual field appraiser work for accuracy, completeness, and conformance with office standards; reports on specific and cumulative production levels to the County Assessor and Chief Deputy Assessor.
Must have a high school diploma or an equivalent certificate (GED) that is NM Public Education Department accredited.
Knowledge of real estate and personal property valuations and appraisals, arithmetic, and geometric computations, of economic principles, and use of basic office equipment including computers (word processing, spreadsheets, and database software.)
One (1) year of experience in an office setting, two (2) years preferred with some experience in general appraising.
Experience with Tyler Eagle computer assisted mass appraisal system.
Ability to work independently of daily supervision and to exercise discretionary judgement and thinking.
Valid New Mexico Driver’s license.
May not have any DWI or DUI within the last five (5) years.
Pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, and background investigation.
Strong communication skills and be able to write clearly and informatively, listen and get clarification, respond well to questions.
Able to organize and prioritize work; use of time efficiently.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Must be a U.S. Citizen, 18 years of age or older.
Must reside within reasonable commuting distance of the worksite.
