The Cibola County Clerk is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Filing & Recording Clerk.

 

Job Summary

This position is under the direction of the County Clerk, Deputy Clerk, and the Filing & Recording Supervisor this position organizes paperwork according to an efficient filing system and digitalize all important documents and is expected to protect and update files as well as make them easily accessible to colleagues. The incumbent must be organized and possess a serious understanding of confidentiality and data protection,

 

Work Environment
Work is performed in an office environment; occasionally works outside; travel by car to other departments and to training or meetings; continuous contact with other staff, constituents, and outside agencies.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or an equivalent certificate (GED) that is NM Public Education Department accredited.

One (1) year of experience in an office setting, two (2) years preferred.

Experience and/or knowledge in computer skills, Windows XP, Excel, and Word.

Ability to work independently of daily supervision and to exercise discretionary judgement and thinking. 

Valid New Mexico Driver’s license. 

May not have any DWI or DUI within the last five (5) years.

Pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, and background investigation.

Strong communication skills and be able to write clearly and informatively, listen and get clarification, respond well to questions.

Able to organize and prioritize work; use of time efficiently.

Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

Must be a U.S. Citizen, 18 years of age or older.

Must reside within reasonable commuting distance of the worksite.

 

Duties include but not limited to items listed below:

Public liaison, answering questions and providing information upon request to the public or county staff. 

Serve customer at the counter and assist with telephone inquiries.

Responsible for receiving and maintaining monetary payments and making daily deposit of cash to the County Treasurers office.

Scanning documents and making and certifying photocopies. 

Running errands, such as collection documents and transporting documents to other offices.
